Vivekananda Kendra, a spiritually oriented Service Mission, is a Voluntary organization, in service of humanity on the ideals of Swami Vivekananda through Man-making and Nation-Building projects in the fields of Education, Culture, and Sustainable Development, and over 1100+ branch centers located across India.
Vivekananda Kendra runs 41 CBSE-affiliated English medium schools, under one of its Education projects, “Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas Arunachal Pradesh Trust” (VKVAPT), in the north-eastern Himalayan state of Arunachal Pradesh. These schools are known as “Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas” (VKV) and have their presence in 21 out of 25 districts of the state. Many of these have residential hostel-facilities for boys and girls separately. Some of the schools are up to Higher Secondary level. The government of Arunachal Pradesh provides grant-in-aid to run them. VKVs have been recognized by the people of Arunachal Pradesh as one of the most reputed and sought-after educational institutions of the state, providing Quality-education to the masses.
