Guru Purnima Celebrated - VKV Mukto
Gurupurnima is celebrated in indigenous way at the school prayer hall maintaining all the SOPs instructed by the government and VKV APT. Though the Lamas were very busy for the preparation for the 16th Dalai Lama’s birthday, the school had able to convince two Lamas to perform the Puja in their local traditional way. In that puja all the teaching and non-teaching staffs along with their families were present. The school was lucky enough to have some indigenous faith workers along with their families during this puja. It was just like ice on the cake. The puja was started at 8:00 am and it lasted for around 6 hours, in between 1hour break for the lunch and refreshment was taken by Lamas. The puja was performed by the Lamas with their traditional way by including their traditional Bhajans and Mantras. The whole puja was performed in sacred way. After the puja the Lamas were felicitated by the principal with their traditional ‘Khadas’. After that in the concluding speech the principal had showed gratitude towards the Lamas and the people who were present in that holy celebration. He had ventilated the importance of Gurupurnima and the role of a Guru in our life and given a vivid description about Vivekananda Kendra and its role for the protection of indigenous faith that happens in a natural way along with imparting the modern education. Lastly the Prasad was distributed to all.
