This school, started in 1977, is one of the first seven VKVs started in Arunachal Pradesh in that year. It is a co-educational school. It is located in the Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh. This district is surrounded by Lohit district in the North, Myanmar (Burma) in South, China in East, and Assam in West. The inhabitants of the district are mainly Tangsa tribe. The district is insurgency affected. This school mostly serves the local Tangsa community of Changlang district and Wangchu and Nocte communities of Tirap district. This was the first Higher Secondary school started by VKVs.
