VKVs Contribution cannot be measured in words: Chief minster Sri. Nabam TukiWhile
inaugurating the Mahabhaskara Shastra Vijnan Pradarshini [MBSVP] -2011 (A Northeast
level science exhibition of VKVs), Sri. Nabam Tuki, Hon’ble Chief minister of
Arunachal Pradesh said that VKVs have done yeomen services to the nation
particularly in Northeastern region. A non-profit organizisation, following the
ideals of Swami Vivekananda, VKVs have maintained excellent academic result
years together since their inception in the state. He advised the students to
be more sincere in studies and co-curricular activities and he also emphasized
mental alertness with reference to the value of life. The government is also
trying to impart total education through RTE (Right to Education) and RTI (Right
to Information). Children must be aware of traffic rules knowledge of managing
disasters and awareness of diseases like AIDS. Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Director, College of
Engineering, Pune, the Guest of Honour in the exhibition explained the need of merging
science with spirituality. Young budding scientist should remove the biases and
prejudices. Su.
Nivedita Bide, Vice president of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari upheld the
knowledge of ancient Indian scientists in the field of vaccination, ayurveda,
mathematics, astronomy etc. She suggested to prefer Vedanta, the onenesses of
all, to the ‘reductionist mechanistic view of nature’ of western world.There
are 61 models in the exhibition competition from 52 VKVs of Northeastern state
and stalls from various govt. agencies like APEDA, PWD, Arunachal Pradesh
Science center, Deptt. of Science and technology, Rajiv Gandhi Polytechnic and
S.F.R.I. The exhibition Hall from G.B. Pant institute of Himalayan environment
and development (GBPIHED) and the mobile science laboratory of VKVs have drawn
huge attention. Sri.
Tapuk Tappi, MLA of Seppa, Sri. T. C. Tok, Gen. secretary APCC, Dr. Joram Begi,
Director of Higher and Technical Education, Sri. Tejum Padu, Deputy Director of
Higher and Technical Education also attended the programme. Students and
parents of VKV Itanagar and public of Chimpu gathered in the mega event. |
