VKV Alumni Association Meet:

154 numbers of former VKV Students were present in the meet at Vivekananda Hall Itanagar. There was a felicitation of high achievers from alumni and toppers in Board examination of 2009. Mananeeya Balakrishnanji, Vice President Vivekananda Kendra, asked the members to work whole heartedly to make Arunachal Pradesh a model state. Dr. Joram Begi, Prant Pramukh VK AP also spoke on the occasion.

Awards: - Sri KP Rao Principal, VKV Yazali and Sri N. Kumarvel, Principal VKV Banderdewa are awarded national award and CBSE award respectively.

Science Seminar 2009: - Nine VKVs could participate at state level competition. VKV Ziro and Kuporijo got second and third position.

Mobile science laboratory:

The First Lady of Arunachal Pradesh Smt. Anupama Singh inaugurated VKV mobile science laboratory at Vivekananda Hall Itanagar on 11th September 2009 in the presence of a large gathering. His Excellency, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Sri J.J.Singh (Retd. General), spoke very candidly acknowledging that Vivekananda Kendra has given top priority to Arunachal Pradesh in its plan of nation building through Arun Jyoti and Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas.

Paying glowing tributes to Swami Vivekananda, His Excellency exhorted the people to be inspired by Swami Vivekananda. He called for a crusade against the divisive forces responsible for sectarian violence.  Let us strengthen the spirit of unity and reinforce the national integrity, he added. Kumari Rekha Davey, Joint General Secretary, Vivekananda Kendra spoke at length about the relevance of message of Swami Vivekananda. A Very good cultural program was presented by the students of four VKVs from caital area. The state toppers in AISSE 2009 were also felicitated by him. Sri A. Pandiyan, General Manager North East region, Indian Oil Corporation, the donor of mobile science lab van and Sri Tapir Gao former M.P. also attended function.

Vivekananda Jayanti:

The culmination of Samartha Bharat Parva was celebrated with youthful enthusiasm in our schools and centers. A kilometer long procession of 1800 students from VKV Itanagar, Vivek Vihar, Nirjuli and Banderdewa, three band troupes with various tableaus of Bharat Mata and Swami Vivekananda was flagged off by Srimati Padmini Singhala, Hon’ble DC, capital complex at Kankarnala Naharlagun. The colorful procession showcased different tribes of Arunachal Pradesh. The students sang patriotic songs and slogans which echoed the hills and valleys and it was culminated at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.

Children Science Congress 2009:

Once more it is the winning will and zeal that has created a zip zap and zoom effect at Itanagar, the venue of state level C S C. 14 VKV teams adjudged best at their respective districts; participated at state level with punch and vim and hit the headlines by bagging the top ranks. 1st &10th ranks are with VKV Roing, 9th-Tafrogam, 8th-Kuporijo,7th-Balijan,6th-Itanagar, , 4th-VKV Bana,( the youngest participant), 3rd Nirjuli, 2nd Yazali and 1st VKV Roing. These Nine VKVs are to represent a ten member Arunachal Pradesh team at national Children Science Congress to be held at Ahmedabad (Gujarat). Our children met the challenge with determination, strength, and total confidence! Congratulations! We are sure that they are going to bring laurels at national level also. I feel so proud and ecstatic of my dear children and teachers.

Chinmaya Geeta chanting competition 2009:

VKV Jirdin, Itanagar and Balijan have bagged three top ranks in group D and two top slots in Group C. The organizers were all praise for the performance while talking with me about the extolled memorization and pronunciation of our students. We are very much pleased. Kudos and keep it up.

Sargam Shibir: 40 students from VKVs of Tirap and Lohit clusters were trained in chanting prayer and singing bhajans in a Sargam shibir at VKV Tafrogam. The shibir has proved quite effective and prolific. Such shibirs are to be organized for all the remaining clusters in days to come.

Utsarg Samaroh:

 

The great big event of the session that implicated active participation of 671 class X students, 28 teachers as resource persons, 40 teachers in organizing team and six karyakarta from administrative office was a unique success story. VKVs Oyan, Itanagar, Balijan and Tafrogam were the hosts and they have proved their organizing flair substantially. Dr.N. Gopalkrishnan, Director, Indian Institute of Scientific Heritage and former senior scientist of international repute was kind enough to grace the occasion. He enlightened the students at Itanagar, Balijan and Tafrogam. His sessions proved quite informative, educative and introspective.

VKV Itanagar-Success tag along Success:

Kr Bishal Das Purkayastha, Km. Reshma S. Raju, Kr Prateek Samal and Km Prajjwalita Patir brought laurels to VKV Itanagar by winning National Level On Line Quiz competition conducted by The Department of Sci and Tech. Govt.of India. They have to compete with the schools from metropolis in semifinal and final to prove their mettle and IT skills. It’s a joy and jubilation for one and all.

Km. Varun M.S and Kr. Suporno Choudhury had been to Kanyakumari to work with the team of scientists to observe the solar eclipse and its effect on flora and fauna. It was a great experience for our students to work with scientists and sharpen their observation skills.

VKVs are conducting this unique puja every year. However this year it is conducted in all our schools The students appearing for CBSE examination wash the feet of their parents followed by Shodpochar worship of mothers. Befitting mantras are chanted and mothers bless the children. The attendance, involvement and effect are quite commendable. For development of positive feelings and emotions it is one of the best occasions.
